You love coffee, right? Today I'm gonna teach you how to brew coffee in a Chemex. It is by far my favorite brewers of all time. Not that it is the cheapest but many experts considered Chemex as the easiest way to make a good cup of coffee that tastes better than a Baristas.
Let me give you a first few tips. When I make coffee, I get everything out that I need. So, I'll walk you through step by step to show you how you do it at the comfort of your home. If you are a pure novice, don't worry, watch the video above and enjoy.
Here's the summary.
Just like cooking your favorite recipe, you need to prepare everything that you need including Hot Water, Scale, Coffee, Grinder, Chemex and don't forget the Filter (they call it a magic filter).
First thing I do is to boil water.
Next is to weigh out the coffee beans. Yours might be pre-ground so it is not necessary.
Grind the coffee. For the grind, you can use between a French Press or Press Pot and a Pour Over.
You may now put the filter into the Chemex
You may need to pre-wet your filter to eliminate the smell and taste from the filter.
Dump the excess water which also heats the brewer.
Let's get into the actual brew. Saturate the coffee grounds for about 45 to 60 seconds. Pour into circular motion.
Finally, give the Chemex a whirl. Replay on that whirl. Pour the coffee. Drink it.
One of my favorite thing about Chemex is the MAGIC FILTER. It's also a very beautiful product. The filter is so thick, it's like triple filters. Hence, it leaves the cleanest cup of pretty much any other brewer.
If you're ready to start making great coffee with a Chemex, let me help you find your optimal size.
Too Small - 3 cup. This one is the smaller size. Unless you are just making a few cups for yourself.
Just Right - 6 and 8 cup. These sizes are the way to go. Both are great for one or two people. The 8-cup can easily handle four 'modern size’ mugs.
That's it! I hope you guys enjoy this video. And let me know what you love about the Chemex.
